Garrison Pooled Bounty
Submitted by Gaara on Mon, 08/15/2005 - 07:41.

Well the long awaited results and reward of last weekends Garrison have been organized counted and will shortly be delivered. However before I start planting goodies in the delivery boxes of the participants I wanted everyone to know the bases of which distribution has been sorted.

According to the list that Maior has put together of those that were with us throughout our endeavors I have compiled these;

Group 1 (was present for 100% of the Garrison runs)

Thersites
Maior
Raytien
Drifter
Texjets
Meretrix
Athrunzala
Kamustaka
Nelsh

Group 2 (was present for 3 of the 5 Garrison runs)

Kitchel
Mrnewby
Natashab
Lunamarie
Xilldon
Valsery

Group 3 (was present for 2 of the 5 Garrison runs)

Forbidden
Jag
Vervane
Zepher
Elvanwood

Items that are included in pool and prices at which they sold

Military Axe x2 - one for 95k and one for 90k (tax 2100x2)

Military Harp x2 - both for 490k (tax 10,000x2)

Military Spear x2 - one for 30k one for 33k (tax 700x2)

Military Gun - sold for 140k (tax 3098)

Total received from sales - 1.368 million
Amount taken out for Auction House sales tax - 27 thousand
Final total for distribution - 1.341 million

Group 3 having been the for only 2/5 receive 20% of pool as a group which divided by 5 is 53,640g each

Group 2 present for 3/5 receive 30% divided by 6 is 67,050g each

Group 1 present for 5/5 receive 50% of pool divided by 9 is 74,500g each

I will be start sending out your portions on Monday, August 15 given that we are all agreed on the system of distribution. Also feel free to run the numbers yourselves as i am not exactly a mathematician, and would gladly reexamine for revisions.

mo money

whatever give me more gil lol which is probly mai's way of distribution

thanks ray

Thanks for spending your time and effort selling things and sorting this out Ray. Perhaps Ray should get an extra bonus for doing all this. However I have to admit that Maior's distribution calculations seem more accurate to me. I vote we divide the loot according to Maior's method.

just doin my part ^^

It really was no big deal just a few moments a day and a lil note taking is all ^^; I will humbly turn down any bonus offered but thank you very much Thirsty.

Gonna need revision

When I compiled these numbers my list of names were incorrect and I had the numbers of group memebers at an equal 7 to each so i may need to work on a different percentage scale with an unbalaced group numbering. input welcomed.

Hmmm...

Well, the numbers you've posted here do actually add up and would be a moderately fair way to distrubute funds (even if it favors those who were there for only 2 matches more-so than those who were there all night-- but those people there for only 2 matches were there for the last two matches, and wanted to do more).

Let me think about this a bit, and let's see if any others have anything to say on it (both Rooster/Thersites and myself have backgrounds in mathematics, and once we start hashing it out, I bet we can come up with something).

Worst case scenerio (and it's not really a "worst case" ;-) we just use the numbers as posted.

One possible way..

Okay... it's a bit early, so if my math is wrong, please tell me ;-)

But one way we could divide up the loot is to divide up per garrison. E.g., we have 5 Garrisons, so 268,200 gil per Garrison.

* 15 people were on the first 3 garisons.
* 14 people were on the last 2 garisons.[1]

So, for the first 3 garrisons, we have 268,200x3=804,600 pooled for those 15 people. This means for the first 3 garrisons, we had 53,640 gil per person.

For the last 2 garrisons, we have 268,200x2=536,400 pooled for those 14 people. This means for the last 2 garrisons, we had ~38,314 gil[2] per person.

Thus:
* Group 3 would get 38,314 gil each.
* Group 2 would get 53,640 gil each.
* Group 1 would get 91,954 gil each.

That puts the distribution weight more heavily on those who were there all night long. But, it also drastically cuts down on those who were there in the end. Those in the middle (group 2) really only lose around 10k.

Again, my math me be wrong, so check my numbers.

Thoughts? Comments?

[2] This was rounded down, the actual number I got was 38314.286

Yes I like this idea

When I was putting all this together I had a few names in the wrong groups, so that group 1, 2 and 3 were all equally balanced with 7 people in each group and the distribution was alot more balanced for all involved. However given that the parties aren't as balanced as I had thought I see Maior's distribution plan alot more viable.

Nothin' but a Merc

Agreed, with an uneven distribution of players per Garrison, and a summation of 'all' drops together instead of a split between what was dropped in each Garrison uniquely, I feel that Sam's distribution gives everyone a decent share. Lets mail it out and keep rolling.

Kitten

It seems to me...

That the players who participated in all of the events should have the say so, since obviously they put in the most time. So by the numbers, you're figure would seem pretty logical to me. But since I wasn't there all night, I don't really have a say. ^_^
