Sunday Night ENM Static
Submitted by cyclonus on Mon, 12/26/2005 - 06:36.

Request:

Hi all,

So, I tried to setup a second ENM (promy) static and with the help of a few members of the LS, we came up with a time of Sunday @ 8:00 PM Eastern (7:00 Central, 6:00 Mountain, 5:00 Pacific). We will be aiming for the Promy-Dem and Holla ENMs.

In other words, 2 ENMs per run.

Here is our setup thus far:

Busco – PLD
Cyclonus – BLM
Darkkit – SMN
Dragonlance – SAM
Malkier – WHM

Based on the setup below, I would like another DD added to the group; ideally a RNG or something with ranged attack.

Also, please note that the last spot will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

So, if you are interested and have the availability, please do let me know via /tell.

Thanks much!

I'm Sorry!

My Computer and I are currently haveing a differance of opinion. I believe it shouldn't have pop ups, and not download stupid programs; such as tool bars, shopping and so on, and it dosen't, I am running programs to stop this and prevent any more from happining. If this dosen't work I will have to reformat my Hard Drive.

Using Durraur's Method of installing FFXI I will be able to cut my version download down alot. So I won't be off for long if it comes to a complete Hard Drive wipe.

Again, I'm sorry to everyone in the static, I didn't forsee this happening, and I am fixing the problem as fast as I can.

Reminder

First run is tomorrow! If you cannot make it, please let me know who your replacement will be.

Thanks!

RNG not needed

We actually discussed this but, in a nut shell, RNG isn't needed. RNG can make the ascent quicker, admittedly, but even in our static we rarely really use widescan :-)

All you really need to do is trace the outer part of the islands because that is always where the MRs are. Additionally, the outer part of the islands is usually the safest.

Now, you can also follow the maps online if you ever have problems.

Also, once you've done these a few times, you start knowing your way around anyway (which is the reason we have two RNGs in Thersty's static, but we rarely widescan :-)

Hmm

The only reason I would like a RNG (/RNG) for our first few runs is to become familiar with the layout.

Online maps have a purpose, but only to provide general guidance and not topography information. Although, this may only be an issue with Promy-Holla, I don't want to risk the death of 5 other players.

Once we are familiar with the layout, change out subs as need be/desired. However, Val, if you feel more comfortable with another sub, go for it.

With that being said - I'll be the scout :)

I think you forgot about me

Valsery. I don't have RNG that high, so if you need to sub me for that job it's understandable. Just let me know.

Sounds like a plan

See you on Sunday.

On DRG in promy...

I have to be honest with you here, I'd rather have a DRG/WAR in promy than a lot of other jobs. DRG @ 30 is a monster DD, they have peircing (perfect for the empty-mobs), they have a wyvern, and they have a backup voke (perfect for pulling a spawn off of a WHM).

So if I were you, I'd probably stick with DRG/WAR over gimping DRG just to have widescan.
