When the PS3 launches later this year there will be no FFXI version for it:
FFXI producer Hiromichi Tanaka
The version of FFXI ported to the XBOX 360 was the PC Version!

Not fair
Aww, and I was hoping for something new and pretty to look at. For those of you on PS2, you know the graphics are lacking significantly when compared to PC...but that is understandable.
I can't play FFXI without the PS2 controller. I have tried, and failed. And anyone who has used a PS2 controller knows that it rules the keyboard (I can type AND walk at the same time!).
Spending a few years developing this game for PS3 does not make a lot of sense...or money. I can understand that (and start crying on the inside).
"Asked about FFXI on the PSP, Tanaka notes that although a fully playable version of the game is probably not realistic, he could envision enabling some functions--such as auctions and chat--for PSP users." O_o
An auction house at the palm of my hand?!?!!
/l Anyone near Jeuno AH??!!
/l anyone...alive?
/l ...so...quiet...
Ok, I lie about that last part....the LS for the most part never quiet. In the past, I have used my PSP for maps...loading them from FFXI atlas or something similar (speaking of which, I think I should download all of the maps and transfer them to my PSP for future refrence). I mean, Nintendo did it for Zelda...kind of.
The excitement of such an extention was quickly shot down by the last line of the article: "and without evidence of overwhelming user demand, it seems unlikely that it will happen."
It's all a fairy tail anyway. Besides, how could I continue to pay the monthly fee dishing out $600 for the PS3 to begin with? Though...what's another $600 added to my $48,000 in student loans?
PSP for maps
Hah! I've done that too.
I also have my laptop on the coffee table sometime to look up maps, quests, items, etc.

What kind of engineering experience? And how long? I get my B.S. In electrical engineering this Sunday. And, by the end of Monday, May 29th I will have approximately 1/365 years of experience as a working engineer.
Software engineer
I guess I should have been specific... I'm a software engineer (sort of... I do a lot of stuff). I was formally trained in "Engineering Physics"... whatever the hell that means... but I've pretty much spent my career doing all sorts of crap related to software/operating-system design, administration, engineering, etc.
My resume is online here if you're really bored and want the details.
